Rapid Design Visualization is an application developed specifically for use with AutoCAD Civil 3D to enable designers and draftpersons the tools to visualise their projects and communicate their designs with others.

RDV breaks down the traditional barriers to efficiently generating quality visualtistions by taking your completed design directly our of the Civil 3D drawing and transforming it into a fully rendered interactive environment that you can drive through , flyover and look at any way you want.  Since the visualisation is built directly from your design you can be confident that you have engineering accuracy in your outputs, and since the data comes from the AutoCAD drawing it also includes layer control for you to turn on/off different design aspects to highlight design options.

RDV's interactive simulations are cost effective during every phase of the project from preliminary design validation for internal use through to presentations for public review and even on the construction site.

RDV for Civil 3D is web enabled so that users can easily publish their simulations to the internet or intranet enabling them to communicate their design intent to anyone, anywhere and at anytime.

Reconstruction of an intersection at Adelaide City Council. Designed using Advanced Road Design. This scene represents one of four stages of major road works in the City of Greater Bendigo to construct a ring road surrounding the city centre.  This is a simple industrial/residential subdivision.  This scene describes road works proposed for Park Road in Park Orchards. The road upgrade is to include reconstruction of the pavement, inclusion of bike lanes and construction of kerb.

This scene is for new excavation proposed in an open cut mine in New Zealand. The design was completed using Civil 3D.  A feature survey has been visualised using RDV.   This scene was created as part of a wind farm design. The designers used RDV to check different turbine layouts and present these. This scene represents an intersection reconstruction in the municipality of Parramatta City Council. A tee intersection was converted into a roundabout, with limited kerb works, new splitter islands and reconstruction to include a central island.
