Using Bluetrain - Visuals and Audio

When Bluetrain starts it opens in Internet Explorer. The initial interface includes a Participants Frame and Group Chat on the left, command icons at the top and the webcasting window. You can click on the Full Screen button at the top of the form to maximise the Bluetrain window once you have set everything up.
Note: the images on this page have since been superceded by the Bluetrain interface, however the functionality is consistent between the Webtrain and Bluetrain interfaces.
Visual Controls
Once you are connected to Bluetrain, our recommendations are to:
- maximise your screen resolution - this should prevent you needing to pan inside the webcasting window, and;
- once you have established the visual and audio connections, tick on the Full Screen
tick box to see more of the action!
Audio Controls
We are using Bluetrain to manage one or two way audio through the computer (VOiP). Using the computer with a headset connected you can readily achieve two way audio.
When Bluetrain starts, the meeting convenor will enable your audio. This is identified by the Headset symbol displaying next to your name in the Participants Panel.
One Way Audio (Listening)
You should immediately receive audio once you have confirmed your audio settings. The Audio Settings form should display (shown, right) when you start Bluetrain.
If no audio is being received do the following:
- Click on the Audio Button
- this will re-open the Audio Settings form
- Adjust the audio input and exit the form to review.

Two Way Audio (Listening and Speaking)
When you start Bluetrain, the Audio Settings Form should display (shown, right) for you to set up two way audio (so you can listen as well as ask questions).
Select the audio input you are using and ensure that the option 'I am using a headset' is ticked ON (as shown, right).
Note: if you want to adjust the audio settings click on the Audio Button - this will open the Audio Settings form.

After you have set up your audio and when the Headset icon is displayed next to your name, you must click on and depress the TALK button (shown, right) for two way audio.
Once talk is depressed what you say is transmitted via Bluetrain to all listening participants. Untick the TALK button to 'mute' out your audio microphone.

 |
Note: If you don't have two way audio, don't stress. You can use the 'raise hand' in the Participant List Panel to flag that you want to ask a question and type in the Group Chat area. Click on the Yes/No buttons to further alert the presenter.
